Damascus Y-Women Craft Show

The Damascus Y-Women Craft show was a great show for me!!!

I met many Crest members at the show! They had finger foods and LARGE table set ups!! I filled my table to the rim!!! The first hour was pretty slow, but from 7-9 it was very busy! I didn't get a chance to leave my booth since I was the only one manning it. I wish I would have been able to chat more with everyone else! The lady next to me was decorating personalized piggy banks! She was super creative! I hope she joins CREST!

I sold out on my Shriek, Girly Bug and Pink Glittery little girl print! I can't find these ANYWHERE!

I did however sell my FIRST Disney Cuties prints and sold 3!!! Such an exciting show!

So I couldn't find any more of the pink glittery prints with the litte girls in them (my BEST seller) but I did find this blue fairy print (ALSO GLITTERY) and I think they will be a BIG HIT!!!

I also got ideas for new fabrics from customers, such as John Deere fabric and Transformers!

I hope to at least have ONE mat from each of these new prints complete for Saturday's show in Urbana. Please come visit!!!

Middletown Heritage Festival

...WAS wonderful! I shared my booth with Dotty http://www.dottyral.etsy.com/ and had a wonderful show! The day was beautiful! The only thing is that they put the crafters way at the bottom of the hill! But it was better then being off of Main street! A ton of people stopped by and I had a great day of sales! I actually sold a little bit of each item! I think my biggest seller was the tooth fairy pillows

and my chalkboard mats!

I can't wait until my next Show on OCTOBER 23!!!

Thanks to Etsy....

my latest creation was a custom order for a bridal shower. I got the order on a Tuesday, shipped it out on a Wednesday and the customer got the box on Friday for the Saturday shower! Whew... that was close! Here's the photos of the box! I LOVE it with the names and wedding date on it!!!

The bride's colors were purple, green and salmon.

I fit every color in there! Yeah! I personally feel like EVERYTHING that's personalized is like 18 thousand times better then something that isn't.... it's just more... SPECIAL!

Talk about FUN with my cousins!!!

I had off on Friday, so I decided to visit with my cousins in Manassas, VA! I got to thier house around 1:00 and we left out to the pool. They really wanted to show me thier new swimming skills! Too fun!!! We hung out at the pool for a few hours and then headed home to eat the most YUMMIEST speghetti my Aunt has ever made! Or maybe I've just never had it before... YUMMY!!!! My mom surprised us and showed up around 9 and we quickly boiled water to eat some pasteles that my mom's friend brought her back.

Pasteles are yummy puerto rican food, they're like meat wrapped in potatoes/ yam mixture. They look not too yummy, but are the BEST!!!

Saturday morning we woke up early to go see Keona

and Lorenzo

swim at thier final swim meet! They are the Wellington Dolphins!! Unfortunatly me and my mom showed up a few minutes late and MISSED Kiki and Renzo's favorite stroke... the Freestyle!!

However, we DID catch thier Backstroke...

Look at the great photo I caught of Keona (last lane arm in the air)!

I didn't catch Renzo swimming, I was too busy screaming for him to win his HEAT! And he DID!!!!!!!!!! I'm SOOOOOOOOOOOOOO proud of you Lorenzo!

Lorenzo also swam the butterfly stroke!

Canale Creations

was featured in the booklet at the swim meet.

I am currently creating a scrapbook of my cousin's swimming season. I will post photos as soon as I can!!

Stay posted for NEW memory boards!!!

So I'm thinking of changing my symbol from the roses to me!

What do you think?

My newest creations!

Hi Everyone!

I know it's been a while since my last BLOG! I just can't find time to blog very often. So I JUST found out great news.... I'm going to be an AUNT!!! I hope my sister doesn't check this site... I made her this box!

She is VERY supersticous, so I can't give it to her until she's 15 weeks, she's currently 12 weeks. SO I hid it in her basement and I'm going to get her husband to go to the basement and give it to her at 15 weeks. She doesn't go in her basement, it's old and there were sprickets in there at one time. So she really liked the Mommy to be Box, but though it was too small, so I made her this box. It's 12" x 9" x 3". So much larger for all the baby stuff you collect when you're expecting.

The lid isn't hinged, so I was able to put a lot more in the lid! The collage was from some baby magizines she gave me! I also put some scrapbook stickers on there also!

Below is the front of the box. It had a slot for a label, they are calling the baby 'Lil Angel' in the sonogram photos, and it's due February 1, 2008!!!

How perfect did that Lady in Waiting sticker fit there?

Here is a photo in the inside of the box. I LOVE this paper. It's the ONLY pregnancy paper I could find!!! They also need to make more gender neutral paper... she doesn't want to know the sex of the baby, so everything I make the baby will have to be gender neutral...

So in between my many trips to NYC (first for Etsy craft show)

and second for my cousins Sweet 16... I decided to make eye glass cases. On my birthday I scrached my FAVORITE sunglasses so I said...well I guess I'll make eye glass cases! :)

Too cute right? I put batting in the material so they REALLY protect the glasses.

And they aren't bulky like a hard case, so I can carry it in my purse without stuffing up my entire purse!

I think polka dots are too cute!

ETSY LABS SHOW and Tooth Fairy Pillows!

This weekend I traveled (and dragged my Husband) to NY to go to the Etsy craft show! It was wonderful there! We left around 9 a.m. and got to NY around 3:00 (tons of traffic). We went to my sister's house, got a snack and drove over to the show! I met WONDERFUL CREST artists and the wonderful ETSY Labs people. They were so nice and the labs were wonderful! How cool would it be to work at the ETSY LABS??? They were all so helpful and crafty! SO I sold my FIRST Tooth Fairly Pillow there and decided to feature them on my blog today!
Has your child ever worried if the tooth fairy will find thier tooth? Then these cute "tooth shaped" tooth fairy pillows are exactly what you need!

They come in various creative prints! Each 5" x 3.5" pillow is made of 100% cotton and is filled with soft and fluffy poly-fil.

They also have a small 2" x 2" pocket in the front for your child to fit thier tooth in, and in the morning find thier gift from the tooth fairy!

A tooth fairy poem is also attached to each pillow which states:"A tooth fell out and left a space, So big my tongue could touch my face. And every time I smile I show, A space where something used to grow, I put it here before I sleep, So you can leave, a gift to keep."
These are perfect for a child at any age! Please check back, I will post new prints periodically!

Winfield Craft Show was SO AWESOME!!!

I really need to find more Elementary or ANY school craft shows. I made a KILLING on Saturday. My best show yet! Not sure if there was just more variety at the show, because there weren't that many hand made crafters or what, but I made a KILLIN' on Saturday. I sold a memory board, like 10 chalkboard mats, memory boxes, photo frames... I made a photo frame with the school name, colors and mascott on it and it sold like crazy! AND I got a special order for another one also. Awesome!

My next show is Middletown Heritage festival. I have a LONG break June, July, Aug. I hope in the mean time I'll get online purchases. I have someone interested in ordering chalkboard mats for thier childs party! Just FYI I have a 20% discount on 5 or more chalkboard mats! They are normally $10, but are $8 for 5 or more!

So my June is going to be as crazy as my March.

June 2-9 I'm off to Playa Del Carmen, we're staying at the Adventura Spa and Resort. So exciting! It will be our 1 year anniversay....

June 14-17 I'll be in Atlanta visiting my dad for Father's day and my birthday!

June 22-24 I'll be camping in Annapolis! I LOVE roasting marshmellows!

June 29-July 1 I'll be in NY visitng Etsy labs and my sister!!!

Please let me know if you have any new ideas!!!

I want to...Blog all the time..blog all the time... blog all the time!

I can't seem to find the time to blog as much as I should be. May's been a busy Month! Well I guess it started on April 30 when Connor Hopkins Moody was born at 12:18 am!! Too cute!

Ok, so he was the youngest baby I've EVER HELD! He was like 12 hrs old.

TOO CUTE!

We were at Holy Cross Hospital... they had nice big rooms!

May 5 was the Spring Fling Event in Sykesville.

The show went well... I ended up waking up late and I got there at 7:52. The show started at 8. It was a flea market/craft show so it wasn't ALL crafters, but it brought large crowds in. Because it was a flea market, you had to bargain a bit, but it wasn't THAT bad. I sold my memory wedding box, and got a special order for a Mickey Mouse Memory Board.

The wind ended up picking up 1/2 way through the day and knocked over my memory board display and broke it. BUT I found a canopy for $40 and a 15" TV for 3 dollars! The TV was purple, but it matches my pink room perfectly! So I LOVED my buys!!!

Then Sunday May 6 was my Husband's birthday...

Happy Birthday honey! Since he arrived home from Texas that afternoon, we pretty much just lazed around the house and went to Outback for dinner.

We celebrated Mother's Day on Saturday May 12. My sister came in from New York, so we went to That Cuban Place on 300 N Market Street in Frederick with the entire FAM!

AND we had a BBQ cook-out at the house that night for Steve's birthday...

It was a bit stressful, but fun. We had about 30+ people show up for the BBQ. Of course it started raining the second that people started showing up, so I put my new canopy to use. Middletown has a LOT of wind, so we had to tie it down. It was fun! Everyone decided to stand out on the deck, I was afraid of the number of people it could hold, but nothing broke, so I think it's good! :) Timmy and Emily decided to take over the burgers, because I told everyone how clueless I was... but of course when there were 10" flames coming out of the gas grill, Steve took over, but by that time, we were pretty much done with cooking. Most of the people with kids left around 9:30 and the rest left around midnight. My family stayed over and in the morning I had to complete two teacher appreciation gifts for my cousin's teachers.

I couldn't find my camera, so these photos were taken by my camera phone. The photo of the item below was a book. How fitting for a teacher!

Bailey (the pup) LOVES having family over! I think even more then me... he cried on the front steps as everyone loaded into their cars and drove away.

Check, Check, Check it out!

Well I've been preparing for this show for a few weeks now. I have SO MANY more prints of the chalkboard mats for this show then the last (the last was just a test show). Since the last show (Ft. Meade) was kind of a bust (for everyone), and I sold 4 chalkboard mats, I called that a success!

This show there will be more then ever! I will have mats of all sizes (mostly 13" x 17" - regular size). For the Young Men:
Camoflauge
Sports print (baseball, basketball and football all on one print)

For the Young Ladies:
Fushia Animal Print
Blue Animal Print
Princess
Fairy (Small)
Dora the Explorer
Girl Bug (lady bug print)

For Both!
ABC Print
Birthday Print (candles) (large and regular size)
Dog Print (large only)

Ok I need more ideas for boy prints... anybody? Anybody? I thought dinosaurs, but I can't find a print that I like. Should it be realistic dinosaurs or cartoon dinosaurs? I was thinking of purchasing the cars print again too....

We will also have memory boards (and will make custom boards),

memory boxes,

photo frames,

tooth fairy pillows, and stuffed toys.

Please come visit our booth, we are a corner booth2nd row back when you arrive! The show is conviently located off of 32 and is very close to the Piney Ridge Parkway neighborhood in Eldersburg, MD.

Spring Fling Craft Show in Carroll County on May 5 from 8am - 3pm. Located at the Sykesville Fire Departments carnival grounds (located along the west side of route 32, approximately 2 miles south of the route 26 and route 32 intersection). http://www.freedomdistrictlions.com/spring_fling.htm

Etsy Sells... I'm Blowing up!

Not really, BUT 2 weeks ago I sold a Fairy Chalkboard Mat on Etsy. My first sale! This Fairy print is going like crazy! I must buy more... needless to say buying material is addictive to me. I go to the reminat section of Joanns and Walmart and I've found great sales. Joanns material is about 50% off and Walmart is about 20-50% off. Needless to say Walmarts prices are cheaper and they tend to provide me with better materials to choose from (fun children prints). My latest finds below... Dora the expolorer and this awesome Sports theamed print!

I have trouble picking out and finding boy prints. I guess it's because I LUV the girl prints and they are selling! SO Right after my first etsy sale, I had Girliemonster email me and she ordered 7, SEVEN chalkboard mats for her childs BIRTHDAY PARTY! Thank God I've been working for weeks to up my stock for the May 5 show! BUT now I only have 4 mats left... BUT I have new exciting prints! So I'm happy!

THANKS GIRLIEMONSTER!!!

:)
